Candidate's Forum, Emmet County Commission
There is a lot of interest and a crowded field in the race for Emmet County Commission this year, and many of those seats will be determined in the Aug. 2nd primary election.  To help voters prepare, four organizations are teaming up to host a Candidate's Forum on Wed. June 29th in the Iron Horse Café at North Central Michigan College.  Doors will open for a Meet & Greet at 6:00 p.m. and the program will begin at 7:00.

This will be a moderated forum with questions provided by the event's organizers.  Audience members with specific questions are urged to come to the Meet & Greet and ask the candidates directly.  The forum is sponsored by the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Petoskey News-Review, Emmet Association of Realtors and North Central Michigan College.  Refreshments will be provided by Angel Heart Home Care.  The event is free and open to the public.  Pre-registration is not necessary.

The Cost to attend is $15 for CWIB members and $20 for all others. Advanced registration is required. Please register online here. Register and pay by credit card.  Registration and networking begin on June 28 at 11:30 a.m. The lunch and presentation will begin at noon and end at 1 p.m.  The luncheon will be at the Library Conference Center of NCMC.

Have Opinions About Air Service?
A survey is available for northern Michigan travelers who regularly fly.  The survey is offered by the Air Service Task Force of the Pellston Regional Airport and is available here or on the airport's official web site: www.pellstonairport.com. The survey should take about five minutes to complete and asks travelers about their flying habits and those factors influencing their decisions about what airports they choose.  The Air Service Task Force uses this information as they advocate for quality air service out of Pellston.  The task force is comprised of chambers and visitors bureaus from the northern Michigan communities of St. Ignace, Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City, Cheboygan, Indian River, Harbor Springs and Petoskey.
