Downtown Petoskey's Summer Open House is today, Friday, June 3rd. With events in Pennsylvania Park all evening like the Downtown Fashion Show, Taste of Downtown & Drink Tent, the Petoskey Steel Drum Band, live music from Charlie Millard, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as the Movie in the Park at Dark, plus Downtown stores staying open late with fun promotions, you won't want to miss this night! Smart Commute Emmet wants to you to try getting to work SMARTER. This is a week-long event designed to increase awareness of, and demonstrate the ability to use, alternative methods of commuting that provide health, economic and environmental benefits through a fun-filled week of community engagement activities. Race course is Crooked and Pickerel Lakes, Inland Waterway; registration still open. This event doubles as the annual USA Marathon Kayak Team Trials, the assessment race that determines who will make the U.S. National Team. The athletes selected at this race will represent the USA in the Marathon World Championships, to be held in September in Brandenburg German. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Petoskey Northwest Michigan Works! Center, 2240 Mitchell Park Drive. The employers will discuss their open positions, company benefits, and work culture.
