The Charlevoix Emmet Antrim Michigan Youth Opportunities Initiative (MYOI) presents a Pirates and Pixies Fundraiser this Saturday, May 7th
from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church at 500 W. Mitchell in Petoskey. Admission price is $5 per child. Activities include dress up, face painting, games, prizes, snacks, crafts, silent auction, and musical performances. Proceeds to benefit youth aging out of the foster care system in the MYOI program. Citizen Scientists Wanted for Stream Monitoring Program. Free training Saturday, May 14th

The Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council is looking for help from volunteers in the community that are interested in learning about water quality and gaining hands-on experience through monitoring rivers and creeks in Antrim, Charlevoix, Emmet, and Cheboygan counties. Camp Daggett is seeking kayakers to participate in the Kayak for a Cause on Walloon Lake fundraiser, July 16th and 17th
from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Participants will paddle the thirty-mile shoreline of beautiful Walloon Lake and are asked to raise a minimum of $50 in pledges to support Camp Daggett's Adventure Center program. . We're excited to be able to offer two NEW programs for everyone! The first is Art & Nature where we will turn things found in nature into great works of art! The second is Sports & Games. This class will feature a fun & relaxed environment for children to learn and practice the basic fundamentals for a variety of sports. The program will focus on teamwork through fun drills, activities and games. We're also offering Y Karate, Archery, Yoga & the HOST after school enrichment program. Smart Commute Emmet wants to you to try getting to work SMARTER
. This is a week-long event designed to increase awareness of, and demonstrate the ability to use, alternative methods of commuting that provide health, economic and environmental benefits through a fun-filled week of community engagement activities. This year's Smart Commute week happens June 6 - 10. Plan now to join with your coworkers to form a team to compete in the Commuter Cup Challenge.
