Statewide Telethon Flint Water Crisis: 4 Our Families (#FlintKids) on March 14th. 9&10 News and WFQX-WFUP/TV Fox 32 are proud to take part in a statewide partnership to help support the Flint families and children affected by the water crisis. North Central Michigan College's Luncheon Lecture takes a magical turn on Friday, March 18th with Jania Taylor presenting on the history of women in magic. Jania Taylor, a local magician, will review the stories of five women who have performed as magicians, from those who worked on steamer boats in the 1800s up to the present day. The Last Good Country: Walloon Lake, An Ernest Hemingway Occasion presented by Hotel Walloon. Friday, April 29th, 2016 starts this three-day event featuring meet-n-greet with Valerie Hemingway, who was Ernest's personal assistant and daughter-in-law, John Cohassey, a Hemingway author and Chris Struble, President of Michigan Hemingway Society. Saturday includes tours of Horton Bay and Walloon Lake that will visit Hemingway's favorite haunts. That evening guests will enjoy a "Nick Adam's" Feast at the Walloon Lake Inn accompanied by tales of Hemingway. Sunday wraps up the weekend with the "Sun Also Rises" breakfast at Barrel Back and fly fishing demonstration, a favorite of Hemingway. Top of Michigan Community Marathon - Open Registration. Registration is open for the first ever Charlevoix-to-Harbor Springs marathon. The Stafford's' Top of Michigan Community Marathon will take place May 28, 2016 on the Little Traverse Wheelway, a paved pedestrian path that follows the Lake Michigan shoreline of Little Traverse Bay and offers spectacular views.
