This is a fun, friendly competition to promote wellness in the workplace. Last year, 18-teams competed locally and collectively lost 1,661 pounds. Let's make those numbers larger in 2016! Win by Losing is hosted statewide by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Locally the Health Care Task Force of the Petoskey Regional and Harbor Springs Area Chambers of Commerce hosts a local competition within the statewide framework.

Winter Open House at the McCune Preserve on Saturday February 27th from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Right in our backyard, this beautiful preserve on the Minnehaha Creek offers 3.8 miles of trails. Recently expanded, these trails showcase the creek, hardwoods, and hemlock forests on the preserve. Eat Pizza on Monday....it's for the kids! The Petoskey Education Foundation is hosting its annual Pizza Pizzazz community fund-raiser on Mon. Feb. 29th. Each year on the last Monday of February, participating pizza places donate $1 for every pizza they sell to the Petoskey Education Foundation. The foundation provides scholarships for students and mini-grants for educators at the Public Schools of Petoskey. This would be a great chance to treat the staff to a pizza lunch on Monday or take the night off from cooking. Friendship Centers of Emmet County is hosting a walk-a-thon on Saturday, March 5th at the NCMC Walking Track to raise funds for Meals on Wheels.
