State of the Community Luncheon Speakers Announced
Event Chairman Dan Ledingham of Edward Jones has proudly announced the speakers for the 11th Annual State of the Community Luncheon.  
They include:
  • Carlin Smith, Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce speaking on Thriving Petoskey 
  • David Zechman, McLaren Northern Michigan with an update on our hospital
  • Jill O'Neill, Acting Executive Director for the Great Lakes Center for the Arts to discuss this planned performing arts center in Bay Harbor
  • David Jones of the Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation with an update on the area's philanthropy. 
The State of the Community Luncheon will take place Fri. Feb. 5, 2016 in Ovation Hall at the Odawa Casino.  Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and the program will begin at Noon.  Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased on-line at http://www.petoskeychamber.com/pages/state-of-the-community-luncheon or by calling the chamber office at 347-4150.

Chamber Invites You To See the U.K. by Rail
The Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce is working with Andrew Kan Travel and Collette Travel to offer an international group-travel opportunity.  You can see the U.K. by rail this October for $4,399/person (based on double occupancy).  The trip will run Oct. 15 through 24 and includes stops in Edinburgh, York, and London.  Highlights include Edinburgh Castle, St. Andrews, a whisky distillery, Castle Howard, Buckingham Palace, and Windsor Castle.  The rate includes round trip air from Cherry Capital Airport, taxes, fees/surcharges, hotels rooms, train fare and 12-meals.  Learn more at a Special Travel Presentation on Tue. Connecting Women in Business at Stafford's Perry Hotel Jan. 26th
Connecting Women in Business January 26 Program to focus on arts in the area - presented by Liz Ahrens of Crooked Tree Arts Center. Registration and networking begin at 11:30 am. The luncheon and presentation will begin at noon and end at 1 pm. Cost is $15 for CWIB members or $20 for others. The luncheon is at Stafford's Perry Hotel.

"From Art History to Executive Director of an Arts Center"  Learn about Liz's journey since her first art history class at Michigan State University in 1980 to her present position as Executive Director of Crooked Tree Arts Center.   She will share how the arts and creativity have played a major role in her life.  Liz will remind us of how the arts are part of our everyday lives--even if we think we aren't "artsy"--which is Liz's least favorite word!   Liz Ahrens is the Executive Director of the Crooked Tree Arts Center of Petoskey and Traverse City. 

Lunch will be a Bavarian Ham & Swiss Sandwich on a Pretzel Bun with Red Skin Potato Salad and a Pickle. Fruit Cobbler for dessert. Vegan and Gluten Free guests can request the Vegan and Gluten Free Veggie Wrap Sandwich. Please note when you register online.
