Veterans Day Services for Wednesday November 11th

Several events in Emmet County are planned to recognize Veterans Day on Wednesday, Nov. 11. "At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we will remember and honor our veterans with a walk into Pennsylvania Park. 5th grade classes from around the area will help carry the flag and read and sing and honor our veterans," according to the Angel Ambassadors.
10:30 a.m. Parade of Students
Students and staff from Central Elementary School and other participants will walk from the school to Pennsylvania Park downtown Petoskey, where a veterans' honor ceremony will take place.
6:15 p.m. Veterans Day Pow Wow The LTBB Waaniigaanzijik Youth Council will host a Veteran's Day Pow Wow on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Petoskey Middle School cafeteria and gym. A potluck feast begins at 6:15 p.m. and the Grand Entry is at 7 p.m. All drums and dancers are invited to participate. For more information call (715) 558-3891. | 
Breakfast for Veterans Veterans and their families are invited to a free breakfast at the North Central Michigan College cafeteria on Wednesday, November 11, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. The college's Student Veterans Association and Chase Bank are sponsoring the event to show appreciation to our local veterans and their families. No reservations are necessary.

Hospitality the Little Traverse Way Seminar at the Stafford's Perry Hotel is Wednesday November 18th.

Hospitality the Little Traverse Way is hosting a customer service training seminar for front-line staff. Presenter Carlin Smith of the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce will teach participants about the impact quality services has for a company's bottom line and will then challenge them to "be the difference" at their place of employment. The session includes practical customer service techniques that employees can begin using in their work right away.

Join us for the 24th Annual Breakfast for Champions Awards Ceremony as we celebrate "There's Only One Petoskey" on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, in Ovation Hall at the Odawa Casino Resort.
This heartwarming, community-focused event that honors Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce member businesses that make up our amazing business community. A number of awards are presented throughout the ceremony, including the Chairman's Award, the Athena Award, the Mission Award, the Service Excellence Award, the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Ambassador of the Year Award and Architectural and Renovation Awards.
Full breakfast at 7:00 a.m., program from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m.

The Visual Web is a social media phenomenon driven by the increased use of mobile phones and the popularity of photo-sharing websites. Instagram and Pinterest are the social sites most closely associated with the Visual Web, and Facebook can fall into this category as well. Learn how you should be marketing yourself to capture the popularity of the Visual Web.
We will access the Visual Web with mobile apps on smartphones and tablets so, to get the most out of this session, please have the following apps installed and have your accounts set up: A Facebook Page (business page, not a personal page), Instagram, and Pinterest.

Committee Chairman Bill Huber, Dennis Kelly, Ken Winter, and John Stakoe (not pictured) took part in the session Friday that discussed some of the key northern Michigan issues including talent development, infrastructure, energy, housing, and Line 5.
