The Michigan Association of Chamber Professionals (MACP) recognized the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce with the 2015 Outstanding Chamber of Commerce Award, Mid-Size Chamber Category, for the second year in a row. In addition, Carlin Smith was recognized for his extraordinary industry achievements at the MACP Leadership Conference & Annual Meeting held at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn on October 29. This recognition comes as a major honor for your PRCC staff and shows the commitment from the staff, Board of Directors and volunteers in making your chamber the best it can be.

The chamber is hosting a "Make the Most of Your Membership" Breakfast on Friday, November 13 and you are invited.  It is a FREE breakfast and a great opportunity to learn what the Chamber does for its members

Connecting Women In Business - Register Now for November 17th
Connecting Women in Business November 17 Program - Marketing for the Visual Web - presented by Marcie Wolf of Abuzz Creative and Rachel Smolinski of Harbor Inc. 
The Visual Web is a social media phenomenon driven by the increased use of mobile phones and the popularity of photo-sharing websites. Instagram and Pinterest are the social sites most closely associated with the Visual Web, and Facebook can fall into this category as well. Learn how you should be marketing yourself to capture the popularity of the Visual Web. 
 
We will access the Visual Web with mobile apps on smartphones and tablets so, to get the most out of this session, please have the following apps installed and have your accounts set up: A Facebook Page (business page, not a personal page), Instagram, and Pinterest.

The luncheon is at North Central Michigan College Library Conference Room.
 
Registration and networking begin at 11:30 am. The luncheon and presentation will begin at noon and end at 1 pm. Cost is $15 for CWIB members or $20 for others.

Hospitality the Little Traverse Way Seminar at the Stafford's Perry Hotel is Wednesday November 18th. The Holiday's are fast approaching, and now is a perfect time to prepare staff or brush up on Guest Service training.


Hospitality the Little Traverse Way Training is designed to be a low-cost, comprehensive program to teach front-line staff the fundamentals of exceeding guests' expectations while giving them a greater understanding of the Hospitality the Little Traverse Way Service Culture. 

The curriculum was designed by Bill Quiseng of Bill Quiseng / Deliver the World's Best Customer Experience and supported by the partnering agencies of Hospitality the Little Traverse Way. 
Participants will be given practical guest-relations skills that they can used immediately apply in their workplace.

The cost is just $20 per person. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. with a light breakfast provided.  The program will begin at 9:00.  Pre-registration is required and should include the names, with correct spelling, of your staff members who will be attending the program. BAH is November 19th at Northern Lights Recreation 
Join us at Northern Lights Recreation on Thursday November 19th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. This months BAH will be combined with the Harbor Springs Area Chamber of Commerce and will be a Construction Theme event.

Admission cost is $7 for members; $12 for not-yet members. Business After Hours (BAH) is a well-attended "end-of-the-work-day" networking event designed to help participants make new business contacts, develop potential new customers, and build exposure for their businesses. In addition to great networking opportunities, along with hors d'oeuvres, cash-bar refreshments you can win fabulous door prizes as well!
