Self Defense Techniques & Training Class! Northern Michigan Sports Medicine Center will be offering a 2-hour self-defense class on Saturday, August 1st at 2 pm at their Petoskey East Clinic. The class is designed to teach defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault by using easy, effective, and proven self-defense tactics. The Petoskey High School Hockey Boosters will be hosting its 8th Annual "Slap Shot" Golf Scramble on Sunday, August 2nd, 2015 at Little Traverse Bay Golf Club in Harbor Springs, Michigan.  Registration begins at 11 a.m. with a noon shotgun start. The event, which is the largest fundraiser for the Petoskey High School Hockey program, will feature a $10,000 hole in one contest, a $2,500 putting contest, and a dinner following golf with live/silent auction. For more information, please visit
