Dave Kring Celebrates Growth and Employee Promotions. Recent growth for Dave Kring Chevrolet-Cadillac has led to the promotion of five employees and five new hires to meet the needs of its growing sales and service departments. Joe Schutte has been promoted to Sales Manager. Lori Britton, former Finance Manager, also promotes within the sales team to Assistant Sales Manager. Matt Kring, former Service Manager, will take leadership of the Finance Manager responsibilities and help grow the sales team further. Theron Reibel received promotion to Service Manager overseeing new hires; Forrest Plumm, Service Consultant; Adam Riehl, ASE Service Technician; and John Mulholland, Tire Specialist. Stephanie Readmond promotes to Quick Lube Manager, Megan Swadling joins the sales team as Internet Specialist, and Phil Kuchnicki joins the dealership as a Service Writer/Porter.With growth comes greater diversity of services offered and an enhanced team of experienced staff and new friendly faces ready to uphold the dealership service philosophy-The People You Know, The Service You Expect-to provide top-notch customer and community service.

Please join the 16th annual Arts Festival in Bay Harbor!
It kicks off on Friday evening, July 24, from 6-9 pm.  It also takes place Saturday July 25th, 10am-7 pm and Sunday, July 26, from 10 am-2 pm. The festival features well over 50 artists from across the country chosen for their unique talents. The artists will be set up along the waterfront in The Village at Bay Harbor which is just steps from Bay Harbor Lake Marina, boutique shopping and great eateries. Stroll among a variety of fine art which includes painting, pottery, jewelry, metal works, furniture, glass, wood and fiber art. Kids of all ages are sure to enjoy the strolling magic, balloon twisting, face painting, and other fun activities.  


Petoskey 11yr olds Host Little League State Tourney July 24th, 25th and 26th.
Baseball season is still going strong for our All-Star Teams.  Petoskey Little League is hosting the 11 year old State Tournament at Bates Field.  Hosting a tournament of this caliber is very exciting.  Please come out and support your home team. Game times for our 11 Yr Old All-Star Team are; Noon on Friday, 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Also, our 11/12 year old team will be playing in Harper Woods beginning on Saturday and our 9/10 year old team will be playing in St. Clair beginning on Friday. We are so excited to have 3 of our All Star Teams going to State Tournaments.  This is such a huge honor for our league.  Good luck teams!


Put Your Pills in the POD! Emmet County Drug Collection Event on July 25th.
To help citizens properly dispose of unwanted or expired medicines, there is an upcoming POD (Prescription and Over-the-Counter Drug Drop-Off) collection event in Harbor Springs. This collection event will take place at the Emmet County Drop-Off Center, 7363 Pleasantview Road, on Saturday, July 25th, from 9 a.m. to noon.  This is an environmentally safe, convenient, and free way to dispose of unwanted and expired pills. Spend the Blue Moon with the Headlands!
International Dark Sky Park celebrates celestial wonder with free program on Friday, July 31st from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.

This program will take place at Heritage Village, located just across the street from the Headlands International Dark Sky Park main entrance at 15675 Headlands Road,

Attendance to this evening's program is free, telescopes with instruction will be provided, and there will be refreshments for purchase, as part of the festivities. Bring chairs or blankets. Self Defense Techniques & Training Class!
Northern Michigan Sports Medicine Center will be offering a 2-hour self-defense class on Saturday, August 1st at 2 pm at their Petoskey East Clinic. The class is designed to teach defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault by using easy, effective, and proven self-defense tactics. The Petoskey High School Hockey Boosters will be hosting its 8th Annual "Slap Shot" Golf Scramble on Sunday, August 2nd,
2015 at Little Traverse Bay Golf Club in Harbor Springs, Michigan.  Registration begins at 11 a.m. with a noon shotgun start. The event, which is the largest fundraiser for the Petoskey High School Hockey program, will feature a $10,000 hole in one contest, a $2,500 putting contest, and a dinner following golf with live/silent auction. For more information, please visit
