Think Outside the Glove Box With Smart Commute Week!

The Top of Michigan Trails Council (TOMTC) encourages you to get fit, be green and save money at Emmet County's 6th Annual Smart Commute event on June 1 - June 5, 2015.  Smart Commute promotes the use of alternative modes of transportation to get to work or school.

The Commuter Cup Challenge is the heart and soul of Smart Commute Emmet.  It is a friendly workplace competition to encourage area businesses, organizations and their staff members to Smart Commute by biking walking, carpooling or using public transportation to get to work.

How does Commuter Cup Challenge Work?

Participants track their preferred method of smart commuting Monday, June 1st through Thursday, June 4th.  The COVETED CUP goes to the team with the highest percentage of employees commuting each day within their division, based on the overall number of employees who were at work.

You don't have a team to compete with?
No problem, sign up as an individual and be eligible for breakfasts and prizes.

Not all your co-workers want to participate or they can't every day?

No problem, this doesn't have to be all employees, every day.  Workers might simply park further than usual and walk or bike the rest of the way.  Be creative!

Why would you want to participate?

  • Encourage healthy lifestyle habits among employees and friends
  • Foster team spirit among colleagues
  • Reduce your carbon footprint and help preserve our environment
  • Free up parking spaces for customers
  • SAVE MONEY
  • Enjoy interesting carpool discussions
  • Free breakfasts, a fun happy hour & great prizes
  • Win the coveted Commuter Cup
How to sign up?

Then what?
Once you register we will provide you with a sign-in sheet, poster, information on smart commuting and the rules of the Commuter Cup Challenge. We will send updates leading up to and throughout Smart Commute Week, provide great pins, locations of the free breakfasts and happy hour, and how to enter the drawing for great prizes!
