The Largest Petoskey Networking Event of the Year is Coming Soon!

Mark you calendars for this Thursday April 16th at the Odawa Casino from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. in Ovation Hall. This is the biggest Petoskey Business After Hours (BAH) Networking event of the year and is combined with the Business Expo. 

 

Admission is $7 for everyone and the public is invited. The BAH will feature up to 70 businesses and organizations exhibiting, and up to eight restaurants offering a "Taste of Petoskey." 

 

Odawa Casino will offer $5 free slot play vouchers as well as an offer for free dessert in Sage with purchase of an entrée.

You could win air fare for two to Chicago or a $500 Gift Card for Delta Airlines just for stopping by the 12th Annual Airport After Hours hosted by the Air Service Task Force.  Airport After Hours will be held Thu. April 30, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pellston Regional Airport.  The grand prize at the event will be two round-trip tickets to Chicago aboard North Country Sky, the new air service that will begin June 24th at Pellston.  Second prize will be a $500 gift card for Delta Airlines offered by Emmet County and the Air Service Task Force.  Event sponsors include:

 

The Airport After Hours is a regional business networking event promoted by the visitors bureaus and chambers of commerce that comprise the Air Service Task Force including:  St. Ignace, Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City, Cheboygan, Indian River, Harbor Springs, and Petoskey.  Admission is $7.00 per person which includes hors d'oeuvres from Hoppies Landing and a cash bar.  Because the event is a fund-raiser for the Air Service Task Forces, punch cards and comp passes from specific chambers will not be accepted.  No purchase is necessary to be eligible for prizes; for complete contest rules contact the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce at 231-347-4150, or carlin@petoskey.com.

Celebrating Administrative Assistants and a Presentation on Hospitality the Little Traverse Way.
 

Celebrate the administrative professional at your office or organization. A great way to thank them for all they do is to bring them to enjoy a nice lunch and presentation. Meagan Krzywosinski, the Chairman of Hospitality the Little Traverse, way will discuss the program and why investing in guest-relations training is critical to the success of our communities.

The Hospitality the Chamber's Little Traverse Way program focuses on the following:

  1. Staff Training while reinforcing the community's hospitality culture
  2. Measuring our service quality to assure that we continue to exceed the expectations of our guests.
  3. Recognizing those businesses who regularly exceed their guests expectations. 
  4. Engage area residents in the practice of welcoming and assisting our guests.

The luncheon is at Sagamore's Restaurant at the Inn at Bay Harbor. Registration and networking begin at 11:30 am. The luncheon and presentation will begin at noon and end at 1 pm. Cost is $15 for CWIB members or $20 for not-yet-members. 

PNC Bank is the marquee sponsor and Lite 96.3 is the exclusive radio sponsor of CWIB.


Be a sponsor of this event for only $100. It includes one lunch admission, plus a covered table for display so you can interact with the attendees during registration/networking time.  Sponsors also have the opportunity put information on the tables. New Air Service Coming to Pellston Regional Airport
A new operator will be providing air service this summer from the Pellston Regional Airport to Chicago's Midway Airport.  North Country Sky is a public charter aircraft service that will operate from Pellston's Main Terminal Building utilizing commuter aircraft and baggage claim services similar to Delta's daily operations.  The company is currently providing service from Manistee to Chicago and the Pellston stop will be an extension to that route.  Flights are scheduled to begin June 24th and will run through August 19th with one flight per day Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays, and Mondays.  Round Trip ticket prices will range from $350 to $405/person.  Service will be provided aboard a 30-seat turbo-prop aircraft with a flight attendant and lavatory.  For information on booking flights, call 877-359-7595 or www.northcountrysky.com.

Transit Summit April 23rd 
Business leaders are welcome at the Emmet and Charlevoix Transit Summit on Thu. April 23, 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Emmet County Fairgrounds in Petoskey.  There is no cost to attend and lunch is provided.  The summit is hosted by Networks Northwest with other local agencies and will focus on regional transportation needs, challenges for the future of public transportation, and the state or our current regional transit providers.  RSVPs are required at nwm.org/charemtransit or 231-929-5077. 
Congratulations Petoskey Paladins!

The Petoskey High School Robotics Team, known as the Petoskey Paladins, qualified to compete in the FIRST Robotics World Championships!  They qualified this past weekend at the State Competition and are now frantically making travel arrangements to get to St. Louis, MO to compete April 22-26.  The team budgeted to get them through the season, but a trip to St. Louis was not in their budget plans.  If your business wishes to financially support the 36-students and coaches on the Paladins' trip to Worlds, contributions can be made to Petoskey Robotics, c/o Petoskey High School, 1500 Hill St., Petoskey, MI  49770.
