Business After Hours - Next Thursday Feb. 19 at Sage

Join us at Sage restaurant inside the Odawa Casino Resort from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, February 19th. This months BAH features a Technology Theme. Register for Connecting Women in Business luncheon on Tuesday, February 24 - Entrepreneurial Women
This luncheon will feature a panel discussion with women entrepreneurs from the area.  Hear their stories about starting and/or running their own businesses. Participants include:  Anne Kirvan of Anne Kirvan Performance Coaching, Robin Bennett of Sunglass Shoppe, Brittany Brubaker of North Perk Coffee, Jackie Garrett of Vilah Bloom and Jennifer Shorter of Grandpa Shorter's Gifts.

The luncheon is at Stafford's Perry Hotel (H.O. Rose Dining Room).Registration and networking begin at 11:30 am. The luncheon and presentation will begin at noon and end at 1 pm. Cost is $15 for CWIB members or $20 for not-yet-members. 
Lunch is the Depot Cherry almond chicken salad with bibb lettuce, fresh seasonal fruit and Bay View Inn fruit bread.

You can be a sponsor of this event for only $100. It includes one lunch admission, plus a covered table for display so you can interact with the attendees during registration/networking time.  Sponsors also have the opportunity put information on the tables. Get Ready for Win by Losing
It's time to get your team ready for the 4th Annual Weight Loss Competition hosted by the Chambers' Health Care Task Force and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, and sponsored by Encore Financial Group.  The Health Care Task Force hosts a local competition within the framework of the statewide competition to inspire weight loss.  Participating teams will have exclusive opportunities for discounts at fitness facilities and for healthy lunch specials.  Gift cards from Boyne Resorts will be awarded to the winning team.

Mr. Wood Goes to Washington
The Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance does not just advocate at the state level.  
The alliance is also pushing a northern Michigan agenda in Washington D.C. through its partnership with the Great Lakes Metro Chambers Coalition.  Kent Wood of the alliance joined the coalition in our nation's capital last week and provided this report to chamber members:
