Business Start-up Seminar to Focus on Ag Businesses

MSU Extension and Northern Lakes Economic Alliance are teaming up to bring entrepreneurs over 100 years of experience through a series of business startup classes. "How to Really Start Your Own Business for Entrepreneurs: Practical Information from Those Who Have Done It" will be held monthly at area libraries in conjunction with local chambers of commerce. Entrepreneurs will have the chance to evaluate the potential of their idea and learn the process of putting a business plan together, as well as ask questions specific to their business. On Thursday, September 18, "How to Really Start Your Own Business for Agriculture/Food Entrepreneurs" with special guest presenter Wendy Wieland from MSU-Extension, will be held at the Central Lake District Library. Registration Open for CWIB September 23 Luncheon

The next Connecting Women in Business luncheon is Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Petoskey Bay View Country Club.
This luncheon will feature recipients of the 2014 summer Go-Grants and they will share with the CWIB group about their experience. The girls will share what they learned and their experiences gained from these different activities.
Registration will open at 11:30 am. The luncheon and presentation will begin at noon and end at 1 pm. Cost is $15 for CWIB members or $20 for not-yet-members. Reserve your spot HERE

The 19th Annual Chamber Golf Outing SOLD Out

Next week's September 18 golf outing is sold out and there is a waiting list. Thanks so much to the members for your incredible support of this event.
This year's event takes place at Crooked Tree Golf Club. Lunch and registration start at 11:30 a.m. and the shotgun start is 12:30 p.m. Heavy appetizers and awards ceremony follow golf at Bay Harbor Golf Club.
The golf committee Jim Kan (chair), Doug Basel, Janet Buchanan, Gregg Garver, Sheryl Seelye and Marty VanDeCar have been working hard to make this year's outing unforgettable. Expect fun activities on the sponsor holes.
