The Northwestern Vermont Board of REALTORS® (NVBR) has released its real estate market statistics for August 2013. The information is derived from data contained in the Northern New England Real Estate Network® and covers Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle Counties.
Comparisons to last year at this time:
- New listings increased 17.3 percent to 291 new properties
- Median sales price increased 3.5 percent to $268,900
- Days-on-market was down 13.5 percent to 82 days
- Month's supply of inventory was down 27.2 percent to 7.2 months
- Pending sales rose again this month, up 4.9 percent to 172
"The trends have continued in a positive way since April," said Kathleen Sweeten, Executive Vice President of NVBR. "Closed sales, increased sales prices and those waiting to close are up. Days-on-market and inventory continue to go down. We are looking for these trends to continue into the fall making this a very good real estate market in the northwestern Vermont area."
