Wildcats encouraged to take #JustDrive pledge
Kansas State University is one of seven Kansas universities promoting the Kansas Insurance Department's Don't Text #JustDrive campaign through a statewide competition.

The campaign encourages drivers to make a pledge to not text and drive. The university with the highest percent of pledges compared to 2016 enrollment by Nov. 22 will win.

K-Staters are encouraged to show Kansas that Wildcats don't text and drive by taking the pledge:

"No text message, email, website or video is worth the risk of endangering my life or the lives of others on the road. I pledge to not text and drive and will take action to educate others about the dangers of texting while driving. No text is worth the risk. It can wait."

Take the pledge online or text Wildcat to 50555.
Safe Zone Training Dates

Safe Zone is a training opportunity that is an important part of making campus feel like a safe community. The purpose of the Safe Zone program is to provide campus "safe zones" and/or visible resources where students can safely go for support and assistance. By placing the Safe Zone symbol on an office door, desk, or backpack, Safe Zone allies signify that their space is a safe place for students who have been affected by any type of issue (examples: LGBTQ+ issues, hateful acts, sexual violence, domestic violence, veterans transition to college, disability, etc.).

The Safe Zone program is open to anyone who wishes to increase their knowledge about local resources and current issues and trends relevant to the K-State Community. Although becoming an ally is encouraged, being an ally is not necessary to attend any Introductory or Topic Specific Trainings. All Safe Zone events and free and open to the public for the education of our community.

Safe Zone training sessions:
Friday October 14, 10am-11am: Advanced Training "Domestic Violence Awareness," College Center Conference Room
November TBD: Advanced Training "Veterans Awareness"

More training sessions will be announced at a later date.

In order to get a better understanding on who plans to become an Ally on campus, please email Chris Bugyi at [email protected] with your expressed interest. If you currently have a Safe Zone logo we still need to hear from you to get a complete listing. If you have any questions at all please contact us! http://polytechnic.k-state.edu/safezone
