Winter Welcome Week fun
To kick off the new semester, students enjoyed a week full of exciting events. Students got to enjoy a game night, a free movie, nitro bowling, and the annual Diversity Tea. The week allowed for students to have a chance to meet new students, have some fun outside of classes, and get welcomed back to campus the Wildcat Way!

If you have any questions, please contact Amy Sellers, student services, at amyeb@ksu.edu.

Kansas State Polytechnic alumni featured in the Salina Journal
We are very grateful to the Salina Journal for sharing the stories of two of our aviation alumni - Andrew Talbott '05 and Lance Benson '06 - on the cover of Sunday's paper.

These young men are lieutenants in the U.S. Navy and have worked extremely hard to become part of the elite U.S. Navy Blue Angels

We thank Andrew and Lance for their service and appreciate their representation of K-State everywhere they go.

Bulk Solids Innovation Center holds first short course
What a great week at the K-State Bulk Solids Innovation Center. We hosted 34 participants from 12 different states at the facility's inaugural short course.

Students learned a variety of techniques relating to bulk solids materials handling and processing, and we hope they left with innovative ideas that can be shared with their employers.

Aviation Fixation featured on front cover of magazine
We are excited and honored to have our Aviation Fixation summer kids program featured on the cover of Cessna Owner Magazine for February! There is a 6-page story inside as well. Also look for a story on the Aviation Fixation summer camp in February's Pipers Magazine.

The Aviation Fixation camps are part of the Kansas State Polytechnic professional education and outreach department's Discover Programs. This department works diligently to provide educational and supportive offerings to people of all ages.

If you have any questions, please contact Danielle Brown, director of professional education and outreach, at dnbrown@ksu.edu.

A high-five is one of the most recognizable ways two people can share excitement or celebrate a job well done. Kansas State Polytechnic's CEO and Dean Verna Fitzsimmons awards her high-five each week to honor faculty, staff and students for their dedication to the university.
High-five to Trevor Witt and Kurt Carraway!
High-five to Trevor Witt, UAS junior, and Kurt Carraway, acting UAS program manager, for speaking on KSAL about our unmanned aircraft systems program. The two were part of the radio station's "Friendly Fire" show from 5 to 6 p.m. on Monday. Trevor and Kurt not only answered questions about our program, but also demonstrated their expertise by talking about the UAS industry in general and its future. Thank you for representing the campus so well!
