Splichal named McArthur Fellow 2015-2016

Professor Jimmy Splichal is the recipient of the 2015-2016 Rex McArthur Family Faculty Fellow Award. Splichal has served the Salina campus for many years as a professor in the aviation department, a club advisor for the Student Veteran Association and a faculty advisor to students in the airport management program.

The award was established in 2006 to honor the Rex McArthur Family and to reward a distinguished K-State Salina faculty member who has demonstrated teaching excellence in the classroom, a commitment to research and innovation and honorable service to the college, university and community. Professor Splichal certainly exemplifies all of these qualifications.

Candidates for this award are nominated by department heads and nominees are voted upon by the Rex McArthur Family Faculty Fellow Award selection committee.

There will be a formal presentation of the award at the Faculty and Professional Staff Showcase on September 9, 2015.

K-State Salina exceeds goal for Project Salina

K-State Salina will now be delivering more than 6,000 boxes of macaroni and cheese to Project Salina, exceeding the campus's goal set at the beginning of the initiative.

Professor Les Kinsler has led the charge of inspiring faculty, staff and students to donate to the project. Initially, K-State Salina was challenged to collect 5,690 boxes of mac 'n cheese and the donations now stand at 6,192.

Congratulations to the campus for coming together for a great cause and answering the call!
