K-State Salina Facebook Page Gets a New Look
If you haven't "LIKED" the K-State Salina Facebook page yet, you need to! This is the best way to keep connected with what's happening on campus.
There have been a few exciting changes recently to the university's social media sites to maximize the way followers are getting news and information. There is no longer a K-State Salina Alumni page; instead, no matter who you are (faculty, staff, alumni, students and community) you can get updated all in one place. Upward Bound Program Welcomes Newest Staff Member
The Upward Bound Program is excited to announce that Dawn Smith is the new senior administrative assistant. She joined the Upward Bound Program in mid-February.
Dawn has extensive experience in grant administration, database management and business administration support. In her spare time, Dawn enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and serving the Salina community as a volunteer to various organizations. Dawn participates in the YMCA Strong Kids fundraising campaign each year which helps with scholarships to Camp Wood and yearly memberships. The children of the Salina community greatly benefit from the campaign.
Dawn is currently in her second three-year term as a Salina Arts and Humanities Commissioner and was recently appointed as out-going "Past President" of the Board. She has been volunteering with the Smoky Hill River Festival for several years and she is currently on the Food Jury Committee that meets several times throughout the year to plan and prepare for the annual festival each June.
Please welcome Dawn to K-State Salina!

Want to win an iPad Mini?
The library needs your opinion about its services and spaces to better serve you! Please take the time to complete a short survey, which should take about 15 minutes of your time and can be found on the library's homepage here.
The survey is open from Feb. 17 to March 14. Please make sure you complete the survey before the deadline to be eligible for the drawing.
Planning for the K-State library's future, it is important that we understand the perceptions and expectations of our campus community so that we may provide the services and resources that K-Staters need to be successful. We greatly appreciate your help and thank you for your participation.

A high-five is one of the most recognizable ways two people can share excitement or celebrate a job well done. K-State Salina's CEO and Dean Verna Fitzsimmons awards her high-five each week to honor faculty, staff and students for their dedication to the university.

Congratulations to Tim Bower
I want to give my congratulations to Tim Bower for being awarded the L.P. Mullen grant from the Greater Salina Community Foundation along with a number of co-PIs from Salina Central High School. The funds provided by this grant will be used to support the first Robotics Team formed in 2009 to inspire young people to become science and technology leaders.

Congratulations to Kurt Barnhart
I want to high-five Kurt Barnhart for being named to the Kansas Aviation Advisory and Review Committee by Kansas Transportation Secretary Mike King.
