Bookstore Couldn't Buy Your Books Back? The library will be hosting a book drive between now and the end of February to collect both new and used books through Better World Books. If the bookstore doesn't want it, you can't sell it back on Amazon or even if it's is out of date or highlighted, please consider donating the book to this wonderful cause. Just place the books in the green and orange bins located around campus or bring your books to the library. All of the book donations will go towards helping the National Center for Family Literacy, a nation-wide program designed to help disadvantaged children and parents become better readers. For more information, email Heidi at hblackbu@ksu.edu. |
Did Santa Forget Some Books and DVDs?
Did Santa forget to put a new book or DVD in your stocking? There is still time to let the library know what you'd like for your curriculum, Course Reserves or personal research interests for the spring semester!
Are you teaching a new course? Whether it's new to you or new to the campus, we want to provide excellent resources for all classes. Drop us a line if we're missing something from our stacks that your students will need to be successful. If you know what you need for the spring semester, let us know ASAP so we can order it and have it ready in time for the first day of classes. Are you working on new research? Whether it's a literature review you're halfway through, or new research you're just beginning, the library would be happy to find materials for your professional and scholarly research interests.
So gather your Amazon print-outs, your catalogs covered in Post-its or your highlighted flyers and get your wish list to me so I can get your books and DVDs ordered and processed as soon as possible. You may send them via campus mail, in a digital list via email or stop by the library and drop them off in person. If you come across materials that you would like purchased in support of your curriculum, please stop by the library or email hblackbu@ksu.edu anytime through out the semester.
See you in the library! |
Participants Needed for Study about Custody Arrangement Decisions Following Divorce or Separation
Jaimee Hartenstein, a doctoral candidate in the College of Human Ecology, is seeking participants for her dissertation research. The title of the research project is "Determination of Custody Arrangements among Divorced or Separated Parents." The purpose of this study is to develop an understanding of how custody arrangements are determined for children among divorced or separated parents and the involvement of adolescents in the custody decision making process. Parents and their adolescents (12- and 17-years old) who have experienced a divorce or separation and have a shared custody arrangement are being sought to share their experiences. Parents and adolescents will take part in a confidential interview via face-to-face, phone, or Skype about the custody arrangement decision making process and each participant will receive $10 for participating. Please contact Jaimee Hartenstein at 785-564-1388 or jkeister@ksu.edu if you would like to participate. Additionally, you can contact Dr. Mindy Markham, Assistant Professor and Hartenstein's co-major professor, for further information at 785-826-2929 or mmarkham@ksu.edu. |
