1. Nourishment

2. Movement

3. Rest/Recovery

4. Behavior

Greetings!

Welcome to our first Functional Therapy newsletter!  Many of you know us from Movement Conditioning and/or Functional Soft Tissue Transformation.  Functional Therapy appreciates the four essentials of optimal health... nourishment, movement, rest/recovery, and behavior.  Our goal with this monthly newsletter is to provide you with easy to understand education, resources, and practical tips to help you take your health into your own hands and live your life with full vitality.  Each month we will highlight different essentials.  This month our focus is on nourishment.

Eating According to Nature
Getting back to a real food diet, the foods that our grandparents may have eaten, the foods our body recognizes as nourishment, is a great starting point for achieving optimal health.  The link below will lead you to a video clip that discusses the renowned research of Dr. Weston A. Price.  It gives us a perspective worth considering when making our nutritional choices. We believe that a diet rich in organic grass fed, pasture raised animal foods, raw organic dairy, local organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds, plus plenty of pure water, is the foundation for optimal nourishment.  Mother Nature has naturally packaged our nutrition in ideal ratios of nutrients and if we follow her guide, we are on the right path to optimal health.

Quick and Healthy Kid's Shake

Feeding our children healthfully can be tough task as we are inundated with processed food products, many times disguised as something nutritious.  Additionally, the typical busy lifestyle makes the job even more challenging.  Here's a solution we've come up with that is quick and easy.  It's kid tested and parent approved!  Enjoy!

Additionally, we recently discovered a kid-targeted cook book that we are having a fun time with, titled Eat Like A Dinosaur by The Paleo Parents.  All recipes are gluten free and share many ways to get your kids involved in the process of preparing the recipes.  Adults are sure to find the recipes tasty too!
