PROVIDENCE HOSPITAL FOUNDATION'S ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF FLOWERS

   

When: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 20 through Saturday, March 22 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 23

Where: Providence Hospital Campus, 6801 Airport Boulevard, Mobile


Produced by the Providence Hospital Foundation and presented by PNC Bank, the 2014 Festival of Flowers "British Gardens in Time" will bring the enchantment of Great Britain and English traditions of garden splendor to Mobile. Visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to tour more than eight acres of breathtaking gardenscapes and floral designs under open sky and massive tents. Proceeds from this year's event will be used to upgrade the infant security monitors and infant warmers in the Louise Robinson Moorer Women's Center on the Providence Hospital Campus.    

 

Cost: $12 in advance; $13 for seniors; $14 at gate regular admission; children 12 and under admitted free.

VILLAGE OF SPRING HILL SIDEWALK-A-THON

 

When: 4 p.m. Friday, March 28

Where: Begins at Lavretta Park on Old Shell Road and ends at Quigley Field at St. Paul's School, Old Shell Road

 

This community event is a 1.6 mile walk to benefit new sidewalk construction within the Village and will feature an end of the walk party. Proceeds from the 2014 Sidewalk-A-Thon will be applied toward new sidewalks on the north side of Old Shell Road, beginning around the Spring Hill Shopping Center and extending east toward the interstate.

VILLAGE OF SPRING HILL: SCREEN ON THE GREEN FILM FESTIVAL
 
When: 8 p.m. Saturday, March 29 and Saturday, April 5
Where:
Lavretta Park,  Old Shell Road, Mobile

The 2014 Screen on the Green outdoor film festival will kick-off on Saturday, March 29, weather permitting, showing Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (PG). Diary of a Wimpy Kid (G) will be the feature film April 5.

SEMMES HERITAGE DAY

    

When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5

Where: Semmes Heritage Park, 3871 Wulff Road, Semmes

 

This event, sponsored by Alumni and Friends of Semmes School, Inc., will feature music and entertainment, arts and crafts displays, food, demonstrations from the early 1900's, family fun, appearances by the Camellia Maids and a hat contest for both men and women. Sure to be a fun and educational trip back to the early 1900's for the whole family! Free admission.
