null null
Semmes Heritage Park, which includes a historic one-room schoolhouse and Malone Chapel, a replica of the original Baptist Church of Semmes, is available for tours by those who want to hold their meetings and special events in a historic setting. The park is operated and maintined by the Alumni and Friends of Semmes School.

The 1902 historic schoolhouse is also put to good use each year when teachers begin scheduling field trips for their students. The oldest continuously in-use school in the state, the little one-room building in Semmes Heritage Park is the spot for children to attend a day in the classroom as their great-grandparents might have- learning lessons in reading, writing, practicing their sums on slate boards, enjoying recess, swinging on a tire swing, see-sawing on a handmade teeter-totter and pumping cool water with a hand pump.

To schedule a tour or to reserve the buildings for your event or field trip Click Here. For more information, call 649-0270.
