Oak Ridge Country Club

In a world of cell phone and tablet cameras, we're all taking tons of pictures, but do you know any of the tricks professional photographers use to get really great pictures?

 

Our speaker for July is Melissa Schreiner, owner of Melissa Lyn Portraits. She will talk a bit about camera settings, lighting, and framing that terrific shot. Melissa is a professional photographer, mom, and has spoken at Mothers of Multiples events.

 

Melissa will go over ISO (film sensitivity rating), what an f-stop is, how to stop action with the shutter speed. She will also cover some things on composition, what can impact an image and what can take away from an image, the best times of day to photograph, and how to obtain those creamy 'blurry' backgrounds. Join Melissa as she walks you through some tricks on getting kids to cooperate.

There were several Minnesota sales and use tax law changes that occurred. A few of the more common sales tax changes are:

• An upfront sales tax exemption on the purchase of capital equipment goes into effect July 1, 2015
• Repair and maintenance labor sales tax on certain machinery and equipment was repealed effective April 1, 2014
• Warehousing and storage services sales tax was repealed
