What a GREAT turnout for our kick-off meeting! We had a wonderful dinner followed by some intense discussion on change and the CEI project.
The Web Platform Task Force just received a sneak peek at GSSI's new Web site. We love it - and you will, too. It has user-friendly event and form centers, and is mobile-friendly and responsive to ensure that your smartphone experience is amazing! The volunteer Web Platform Task Force and staff are reviewing everything and making final touches. Get ready ... it is coming in TEN days!
NOTE: If you are still interested in joining the Task Force and weren't able to attend the kick-off meeting, contact Margaret Dennis or Lucy Himstedt. |
Honor & Golden Honor Troops
This program recognizes troops that achieve the Essential Elements of a Girl Scout Troop, and provide overall excellence in troop management and programming in a given year. To achieve this honor, leaders and girls must work in partnership with each other, other troops, Service Team, and council staff. Applications are due June 15. Troops are announced in the newsletter and at the Fall Volunteer Kick-Off.

GSSI has so many great volunteers and staff who are generous with their time and talent! A big thank you goes to:
Sarah Krause, from Troop 164, who hosted the Singapore station at the WTD Event at USI on March 20. You took on this job by yourself when your leader had a conflict. Thanks for introducing many young ladies to the country of Singapore.(from Kelly Birkhead, volunteer)
All of the troops and volunteers who participated in running a station at World Thinking Day on Sunday, February 21.Troops 5, 127, 164, 391, 479, 980, and Suzanne Hunter did an amazing job. The event was wonderful and everyone had a great time I loved the diversity of each station and was impressed with the troops' creativity. We also had some great community partners (USI's collegiate Girl Scout troop, Mermaids Belly Dancers, International Program USI, Sigma Sigma Sigma). (from Gretchen Helm, Troop Support Specialist)
Sheryle Mills and Junior Troop 196, for hosting the Southwest Warrick World Thinking Day! We had a fun-filled, informative evening, visiting Russia, Italy, and France. (from SWW volunteers)
Tiffany Schu and Karla Kuebler, for manning delivery stations and the distribution of cookies to South Posey area troops this year. The process ran well with their assistance. Their help was greatly appreciated! (From Erica Sims, Posey County SUCC)
Jeannie Mayes, for all of her help in decorating for and cleaning up after the North Posey Me and My Guy Dance this year. We greatly appreciated the assistance! (From Erica Sims and Misty Mauck, Troop 127)
Would you like to give a "Pat-on-the-Back" to a special person who went that extra mile or stepped in to help without being asked? Send an email to Margaret with the name of the volunteer or staff member and how she/he helped out.
