President's Letter

Thanks to everyone who joined us in September as CPCA held its annual conference in Cromwell. Over 250 people learned about the latest in rodent exclusion strategies, trapping and control; termite behavior, biology and control and other great topics from such speakers as Robert Corrigan, Shawn Mullen, Jim Fredericks, Kevin Moran, Richard Spigler and Greg Baumann.  Presentations like theirs help us  to stay informed and keep up with the latest developments in the field. On top of that, 18 vendors showcased their latest products and services.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the lifetime achievement award presented to Norm Zurcher in recognition of his many contributions to pest management and ongoing dedication. Norm had over 60 years in pest control.

Norm Zurcher, of Waltham Services, received the  Lifetime Achievement Award for over 60 years of dedication to the  pest profession.

As always, I welcome your feedback on the meeting and ways we can make the event even more successful next year.  Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] with your ideas for future meetings.

Analysis of EPA Proposed Rule Changes

During the webinar the committee identified the areas of the rule that will need to be further analyzed and addressed in comments that will be submitted to EPA by NPMA.  Due to the scope and breadth of this rule, NPMA will be requesting an extension to the November 23rd comment deadline. The rule will be a priority topic during the Public Policy Committee meeting at PestWorld in Nashville. Please review the following information and provide input, questions or

Sends QualityPro Launches New Streamlined Version of GreenPro Certification Program

QualityPro has unveiled a new version of the popular GreenPro certification program. GreenPro  is designed to identify and recognize green services offered by QualityPro certified companies. Certification enables companies to better promote their services and commercial or residential customers to easily find the environmentally friendly service they desire. GreenPro service certification is available at no additional cost to QualityPro certified companies. Under the new program, companies will find it easier to submit their service programs for certification.

"We are excited to share the new GreenPro at PestWorld and are hopeful that this streamlined program will encourage even more pest control companies to submit their green services for consideration," says Andy Architect, Executive Director of QualityPro.
