A Message from KPMA President
Donnie Blake, OPC, Louisville, KY

The KPMA Summer and Annual meeting is scheduled for July 30-31 at Wildwood Country Club in Louisville. Please register for the meeting as soon as possible so we can make arrangements for the golf, Annual meeting dinner and training meeting. Everyone has always enjoyed the Wildwood facilities and this year should be no exception. The golf outing is on Tuesday morning, July 30, with a limited number of tee times available. So register early and be a part of this annual networking event. Bob Rosenberg, NPMA Executive Vice President, is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the Annual meeting dinner on Tuesday evening. Bob will update everyone on NPMA activities, including the latest in Government Affairs issues. Benson Bell, KDA Executive Director, is planning to attend the Annual meeting dinner and will provide an update on the happenings at KDA. Tommy Reeves is providing the entertainment for the Annual meeting dinner. You will witness a side of Tommy that will leave a lasting impression! As always, the KPMA business meeting and election of officers will be held during the dinner.
As usual the training session on Wednesday is going to be outstanding. Ray Hardebeck, Chris Christensen and Scott Underwood have done another great job with the content and speakers for the training session on Wednesday. We would be unable to provide the quality of training and the events for this meeting without the exhibitors and sponsors. So a big "thank you" in advance for their participation in the KPMA Summer and Annual Meeting! If you have not received information for the meeting, or have any questions, please contact Andrew Architect at 800-678-6722 or aarchitect@pestworld.org or Donnie Blake at 502-969-9635 or donnieblake@opcpest.com.
REMEMBER: Every KPMA member is invited and encouraged to attend the KPMA annual meeting and dinner on Tuesday evening July 30. There is no charge for two people from each member company. There is a small charge, which includes dinner and entertainment, for additional attendees. On June 14, the pest management industry lost a dear friend, Verlon Gosser. Verlon was a longtime leader in the pest management industry, not only in Kentucky, but also nationally. Verlon Gosser served multiple terms as KPMA President and also served on the NPMA Board of Directors. Verlon is the person that originally asked me to serve on the KPMA Board and I will never forget that conversation and the support he provided me. Verlon was a dedicated participant in all legislative activities in Kentucky and was always ready to provide input and direction. Verlon will be terribly missed. We wish his family the best at this difficult time. If anyone has any interesting news regarding their company for submission in the KPMA newsletter, please forward the information to me at donnieblake@opcpest.com and I will forward the information to NPMA for inclusion in the next newsletter. Thanks again for allowing me to serve as President of KPMA.
Sincerely,
Donnie Blake
KPMA President
