What Happens After April 30th? License Renewal FAQs

Did you renew your license online but IDFPR's site is not showing that your license is renewed? Did you renew but haven't received the email to print your license? What is the fee for renewing late? Find the answers to the most frequently asked questions about the Broker License Renewal deadline in this article from Illinois REALTORS® Licensing and Training Center.

Missed the Broker Renewal Deadline?

There is still hope for those who have missed the April 30th Broker License Renewal deadline and would still like to practice real estate in 2016. First, complete the amount of continuing education required to renew. Self-study is a quick and convenient way to fulfill license renewal education requirements. Once you have completed the required C.E. you can renew your license through IDFPR and pay an additional $50 renewal late fee.

NAR Ethics Requirement
Did you know all REALTORS® are held to a higher standard of practice and professionalism than non-REALTOR® licensees? The standard of practice that all REALTORS® are held to is known as the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics. REALTORS®
are currently required to complete training on the NAR® Code of Ethics once within a pre-established quadrennial period. The quadrennial period we are currently in began January 1st, 2013 and ends December 31st, 2016. Mainstreet will be coming out with a live-classroom ethics course schedule soon but you can currently fulfill the requirement through a self-study course.
