DuPage County is uniquely positioned to capture a portion of a large federal grant (over 1 billion dollars available) for disaster relief tied to flooding - more notably, flooding that took place in April of 2013 and placed a large strain on local communities and BUSINESSES.  DuPage County is working with homeowners, businesses and municipalities to quantify the extent of the strain as a result of the flooding.

This is a competitive grant.  The Department of Housing and Urban Development has asked the county to work with the business community to learn of damages (lost business hours, physical damages to properties, etc.) as a result of the flood.  This information will be compiled with other information from homeowners and municipalities in an effort to present a compelling case for grant assistance.
