NATIONAL PURPLE HEART DAY
Friday, August 7, was National Purple Heart Day and recipients were celebrated for their service to our country. The Purple Heart represents courage, bravery and patriotism to the men and women who wear it. It also symbolizes resilience for the families who are there to serve as the backbone and springboard for the wounded warrior on the road to recovery.

Former president of S.W. Collins Co., Don Collins, is a World War II Veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge and has earned two Purple Hearts and a bronze star.  Don and wife Pat attended the Purple Heart Ceremony held at the Veteran's Memorial Park in Caribou on Aug. 7.

Thank you for your service, Don. We are proud of you!
