While the Zika virus is quickly gaining media attention, so far, all confirmed cases of infection have been isolated to individuals who have traveled outside of the country, and as of April 18, 2016, no locally-acquired cases have been reported. This does not include the United States territories, however, as there have been over 470 reported local mosquito-borne transmissions in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, and American Somoa.
