Downers Grove, IL March 14, 2016 - Coventry would like to announce that Dr. Michael Lacroix will be speaking at the Annual AmCOMP Meeting being held on April 14-15, 2016. Dr. Lacroix will be presenting "Psych - The Four Letter Word in Workers' Compensation."

A principle objective of AmCOMP is to maintain the integrity and degree of excellence in the field of workers' compensation by helping to raise professional standards.  AmCOMP strives to further the education of all workers' comp professionals by providing relevant courses in workers' compensation.

In his discussion Dr. Lacroix will cover how many states have laws written with the specific intent of disallowing any psychological or psychiatric component in a work comp claim. Despite efforts to banish it, "Psych" in the workplace is moving front and center. This session will seek to address some fundamental questions about the relationship between mental disorders and workers' compensation injuries. Dr. Lacroix will also address the question of whether individuals with pre-morbid psychological conditions may be more susceptible to work comp injuries, and make specific recommendations to reduce the impact of psychological / behavioral factors.
