Dr. Melissa Bean of Coventry
Elected to ACOEM Board of Directors

  
Downers Grove, IL - February 11, 2016 - Coventry is pleased to announce Dr. Melissa Bean, DO, MBA, MPH, FACOEM has been elected to the Board of Directors of the office of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM). ACOEM's new Board will be installed at their Annual Membership Meeting on Tuesday, April 12.
 
ACOEM represents more than 4,500 physicians and other health care professionals specializing in the field of occupational and environmental medicine (OEM). ACOEM is the nation's largest medical society dedicated to promoting the health of workers through preventive medicine, clinical care, research, and education.

Dr. Bean has been an ACOEM member since 1995, and has held several positions for the House of Delegates including Recorder. In addition to her work on the House of Delegates, Dr. Bean also serves as the President-Elect for the Central States Occupational and Environmental Medicine Association (CSOEMA), the largest component under the auspices of ACOEM, with 400+ members in the seven central states. 
 
Dr. Bean has been the Medical Director at Coventry since 1997, and is board certified and residency trained in occupational medicine, with experience in corporate medicine, insurance, and managed care. She plays a key role in developing clinical best practices for managing complex workers' comp claims and oversees the physician review impact within Coventry's Utilization Review and Case Management Programs.
