A Coventry Mini Peer Review offers a solution for adjusters looking to obtain the opinion of an independent physician on the treatment plan and medical record of a claimant within 45 days of the injury. This service provides many of the same benefits of a traditional peer review, but at a significantly reduced cost. This allows for a review much earlier in the claim, and helps assess the potential for future medical needs cheaply and quickly. Mini Reviews are ideal for lost time claims or medical only claims where the relatedness of treatment is in question.
The program features up to 50 pages of medical records, and up to two questions/objectives for the doctor. Once a referral is received and medical records are supplied, Mini Peer Reviews are provided within 72 hours. Mini Reviews do not include peer-to peer contact, but can provide a baseline for the injury's severity early on. This provides defense later if the injury starts to "migrate."
