Message from the Chair - Lane Parrott

Back to school is not just for kids!

As students return to school, it is time for ASQ Members to think education too. What are you doing to educate yourself?  What are you doing to expand your mind? Think about it, if you are not getting better, then you are getting worse. "Use it or lose it."

Here are some ideas:

  • Come to an ASQ Meeting: Travel to a meeting instead of sitting on the couch. Meet new people. Talk to people other than co-workers and family. Eat interesting snacks. Watch a presentation. Ask questions. Listen to people's questions. Win a door prize!
  • Register for Quality Day: This year's topic is "Leading Change in Quality" It is on November 9th in Pomona. There will be multiple speakers and 150+ ASQ members to speak with. Contact Chen Low for details
  • Take a Course: CQE starts October 12th and the CQA starts October 19th.  Contact Lane Parrott or Cathy Martin to register.
  • Read a BookWrite a book review and submit it to our newsletter
  • Attend Leadership Team Meetings: Join us at our next meeting and find out how you can support our dynamic group. Help us help members just like you. The next meeting is Wednesday, September 4, 2013; 5:30 PM at CSUDH Extended Education Building.

BE ACKNOWLEDGED FOR YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS - If you have three (3) or more current ASQ Certifications and you attend our November Meeting, you will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, an ASQLA coffee mug and a gift card.
