Many Gardiner Angus Ranch customers share our common philosophy regarding beef production. Those customers are professional cow-calf producers allied with the GAR philosophy and committed to the discipline required to produce seedstock with added value throughout the food chain.

As the beef industry makes scientific progress through the development of molecular breeding values and marker assisted EPDs, Gardiner Angus Ranch and its Allied Producers will aggressively use the data to develop new and better programs, offer more services and continue producing superior Angus genetics.

Steve Hunt Delivers the First Henry C. Gardiner Lecture

A Beef Industry Success Story was the title of the first Henry C. Gardiner Lecture presented by Steve Hunt, former CEO of U.S. Premium Beef, and now advisor to USPB. Hunt discussed the challenges faced by the beef industry in 1995, prior to U.S. Premium Beef and the resulting impact of one of the first and most successful supply development systems based on quality. A video of Steve's presentation will be available soon and posted on our website.

Final SCIP Analysis Presented by Tom Brink to Southern Section of Animal Scientists

The final results of the two-year Southern Carcass Improvement Project was presented by Tom Brink, President of J&F Oklahoma Holdings, Inc., to the American Society of Animal Scientists, Southern Section in Orlando, Florida. Brink was a consultant on the entire project and authored the final white paper detailing the project. SCIP was a field study that documents the carcass improvements that can be made, in one generation, using high-accuracy, proven Angus sires on a Bos Indicus-based cowherd. The final results can be found here.
Spring Interns Prove "Girls Rock" at GAR!

2013 Interns

Spring interns Lindsey Grimes and Elaine Martin wasted no time in getting to work upon their arrival in January. Ultrasound, AI, embryo collection, sorting, tagging, sample collection are just a few of the jobs tackled by these two young women with an excellent "can do" attitude! Lindsey and Elaine have been welcome additions to the GAR team. We appreciate their intellectual curiosity, willingness to gain new experiences and hard work. Read more about Lindsey and Elaine on page 3 of the catalog.
