WELCOME, NEW HIRES!
Between the last three quarters of 2013 and first quarter of 2014, UHY LLP's Michigan offices added 69 employees to their team.
The Michigan offices were excited to welcome their biggest hiring class of interns and staff accountants on Monday, January 6. The orientation training was held in the Farmington Hills office.
"This year we took a different approach with having many of our partners leading the recruiting at the college campuses. This allowed our leadership the first look at these candidates with their initial interviews. The consensus is that we had a lot of great students to make offers to and feel like our newest employees may be the best class ever at UHY LLP," said Dan Markey, managing partner of the Sterling Heights office.
"Campus recruiting is an ongoing process in which recruiters are making sure to identify talent. It's all about building relationships and adding that talent to our firm to help us grow," recruiting manager, Rina Henning added.

Gordon Follmer
Gordon is the founding partner of Follmer Rudzewicz & Company, the predecessor before the 2000 merger of seven firms to form UHY LLP, a certified public accounting firm, and UHY Advisors, a professional tax and business advisory firm. He was a member of the firm's National Executive Committee and National Board of Directors for several years. Gordon has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Detroit and is a licensed CPA in the State of Michigan.
Peter Meagher III
Pete joined the firm in 1973 as a junior accountant and is now a partner. He is a leader in the Tax Department where he works exclusively with closely-held companies. Throughout his 40 plus years in public accounting, Pete has acquired an extensive amount of knowledge in regards to financial and tax planning strategies for both corporations and individuals. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan and is a licensed CPA in the State of Michigan.
Patrick Gregory
Pat joined the firm in 1978 as a junior accountant. He is now a partner and leader in the Tax Department. With over 35 years of accounting experience, he has an active role in developing tax strategies for a variety of clients. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Michigan Technological University and a Master of Science in Taxation from Walsh College. Pat is a licensed CPA in the State of Michigan.
Daniel Markey
Dan is a member of the Michigan Executive Committee and the managing partner of the Sterling Heights office. With over 35 years of experience in public accounting, he has specialized in providing tax planning strategies and business consulting services for closely-held and family owned businesses. Dan joined the firm in 1978 as a junior accountant and was admitted to partnership in 1986. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a concentration in Accounting from Walsh College and is a licensed CPA in the State of Michigan.
Dennis Petri
Dennis joined the firm in 1983 as a staff accountant. He is now a partner and serves as one of the firm's international liaisons, a leader of the International Tax Committee, and an active member of the firm's International Tax Special Interest Group. Dennis has a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Aquinas College and a Master of Science in Taxation from Walsh College. He is a licensed CPA in the states of Michigan, Georgia and Florida.
Stephen Cheaney
Steve joined the firm in 1983 as a staff accountant and is now a principal and leader in the Audit and Assurance Department. He is a leading member of the firm's National Financial Accounting Standards Board Committee. Steve has a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Michigan State University and is a licensed CPA in the state of Michigan.
