Grinding and Paving Begins Ahead of Schedule
48th Ave. to Lincoln to be completed next week!

Crews ramped up work and mobilized resources this week in order to begin the grinding and paving work for completion ahead of schedule.

Yesterday, grinding work commenced along Point Lobos from the top of the hill at 48th Avenue down to Balboa. Paving for that portion should begin tomorrow and finish up by the end of the week!

Then starting on Monday crews will work to grind the stretch from Balboa to Lincoln and have it paved by the end of next week!

That'll be a mile and a half of a smooth new roadway for drivers, MUNI riders and cyclists along the Great Highway.

Increased Traffic Control Measures

If you've been by the construction zone recently, you see that it is very busy. Safety is the number one priority when setting up traffic control measures while the new roadway and streetscape amenities are installed.

To help with safety and moving traffic along expeditiously, there are SFPD officers out there at high volume intersections during work hours.

Hopefully this will help to aid travellers working to navigate through the temporary reroutes during construction.

Crews Installing Final Median
The last median to be installed is being formed and will be poured soon. Seven new medians will be a part of the new road configuration (Balboa to Lincoln) to improve safety for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists.
