Great Highway Construction Continues
Work concentrated between Lincoln and 48th Avenue

Construction to the Great Highway continues. Thank you for your patience while these improvements are being made.

Work is still concentrated on the section of roadway starting at Lincoln through the end of the park heading north, and up Point Lobos to 48th Avenue (project map).

Sewer work continues between Lincoln and Balboa. You'll see the median in several sections has been removed and traffic is down to one lane in each direction. Work to install an irrigation system in those areas commences this week and will last about two weeks. This irrigation will be for the new planted materials along the medians.

Curb  ramp installation work continues. Crews will move north to south and are currently midway along Point Lobos Avenue.

Starting this week, roadway repair work begins. There are several sections along the Great Highway that need base repairs before the new roadway can be poured. Some sections are as small as 500 square feet, and some up to 2500 square feet. This work moves from 48th toward Balboa and requires traffic reroutes and some lane closures.

Grinding and paving work starting at Point Lobos and 48th is still scheduled to begin the week of April 15th.
