How can you earn money? Volunteering to help with the Variety Show in various ways. Here is a quick overview, I hope this helps.
1. Each time a Youth member volunteers to help out they earn a point.
2. Come up with a GREAT Live Auction Item - you will earn one half of the proceeded. (Example: Doing a Circus Act for a Child's Birthday Party). This Live Auction Item auctions goes for $80. You the YOUTH member will earn $40 for your account from this item.
3. Donate a Silent Auction Item (Example: Little Girls Birthday themed Party). This Silent Auction Item goes for $50. You the YOUTH member will earn $25 for your account from this item.
So........say Youth Barbie....has volunteered all over the place: she helped sell tickets (3 points), she helped in the kitchen with busing tables (1 point), she helped clean up (1 point) and her live auction item went for $100 and her silent auction item when for $30. Each point will be determined on the amount of dinner reservations minus expenses. So for this example, say each point was worth $9.25.
Barbie has earned the following for her Youth Account:
5 points x $9.25 = 46.25
Silent Auction = 15.00
Live Auction = $50.00
Total: $111.25
This is how easy it is to earn money for your youth account.
This past Sunday was the first day of ticket sales for the Variety Show........thank you to the youth who helped! Get out there among the people in the Narthex and talk about the upcoming event. Invite them to come. Ask them to buy tickets. Tell them what a great evening they will have. Don't just stand behind the counter and wait for them to come to you. Go out and engage with our congregation. Our Youth are so vibrant and fun and full of life, show that to our congregation.
I hope this helps and I hope this will encourage each of you to step up and make this Variety Show a fantastic event for yourselves, our congregation and our Church. Invite you friends and neighbors and relatives. Show them what a fantastic Church family we have and what a GREAT youth group you belong to.
