Youth Spring Retreat
What a great weekend. The snowy Spring Retreat to Camp Aldersgate was cold but everyone came home with a warm heart. The food was great and we all had a blast! There were a lot of pranks and secret tricks going on between cabins. You never know, some of the pranks might carry on next year and be a tradition, so watch out! On Saturday we began by reflecting on how God loves us where we are, but refuses to leave us there. What an important message as the seniors begin to get ready for college. It also reminds the rest of us that no matter what place we find ourselves in, God will move us forward. We were also inspired by a story from Mr. Bethel. We also had some alone time to reflect and grow in our individual faith. We had small group discussions about our fears and future plans.
On Saturday night there was a worship service with emotional and inspiring group discussions afterwards. We were led by Patty, Mrs. Catron, Ben Wong, Mr. Wilhelm, and Mr. Bethel. Although the adult leaders were there to guide us, the senior high took on the leadership role. They led us in our worship service and small group conversation. This was their last retreat and they really stepped it up in the variety show too. There was a secret Harlem Shake dance, many funny acts, skits, songs, etc. Everyone really seemed to connect on this retreat! What an inspiring weekend. We will miss you seniors!
