YOUTH SUNDAY INSPIRING

"This Little Light of Mine" was the theme of this year's Youth Sunday. Prayers, scriptures, stories and even Children's Moments emphasized how God's light shines through the faces of Christians. Just as the moon reflects the light of the sun, so too do we as Christians reflect the light of the Son of God.

What gets in the way of light for Christians? Spiritual Darkness. This lives in all of us, and with increased awareness, love and compassion, we can help ourselves and each other shrink the darkness.

The service came to an end as lights dimmed with glow sticks waving in a wide circle around the sanctuary as the last song "Shine Jesus Shine" filled the sanctuary.

Great job everyone!

If you have not yet signed up on the youth bulletin board to attend, please do so. This is an experience you will not want to miss. And it will be here before we know it!!

John Deaton, a member of the Senior High Youth, will be receiving his Eagle Scout badge! An Eagle Scout of Honor Ceremony will be held at St.  Susanna Church in the Meyer Center on Sunday, February 10, from 1:00- 3:00 P.M.

John worked in conjunction with Mathew 25 Ministries to send medical supplies to needy villages in Africa and South America.  John collected medical supplies from various hospitals and medical centers in the greater Cincinnati area.  Great job John!  You've earned it!

Sports

Jay Wilhelm swims for Kings High School.  He recently competed in the school conference meet at Anderson High and improved his time in all 4 events.  He swam in 2 relays, the 100 backstroke, and the 100 freestyle.  This was Jay's best meet of the season.  Well Done!!
