HUD calls for Contact Info updates |
Much is heard about the HUD Transformation regarding staffing changes, workload sharing and office closings, but more is going on behind the scenes. A major scanning and digitizing effort is in place as HUD packs up its paper files and transitions to an electronic format.
Field Office staff have been asked to review each and every property file in iREMS and confirm the accuracy of the information. HUD staff has been tasked with confirming the Owner Contact info for all HUD insured loans.
We have received a great many calls on this, so we want to remind you: It is the industry's job to update addresses and phone #s in APPS but only HUD can edit the Owner Contact info in iREMS.
Murphy Consulting stays on top of HUD updates and changes!.

2530 Tip of the Month - Accepting Electronic Signatures |
Did you know? HUD is working on an option to accept electronic signatures in APPS. We applaud HUD for this effort but also caution the industry - HUD is still working out the kinks on this one!
We strongly advise Coordinators and Users NOT to select the "I Accept" button associated with electronic signature when doing an APPS 2530, unless you have reviewed this language with your attorney and your attorney agrees that you can legally select this button. The "I Accept" button is an option, not a requirement. You will be able to proceed with your e2530 without selecting this button.
Murphy Consulting has reached out to HUD to request that the language be amended so that this function can be legally utilized globally by Coordinators and Users around the country. Stay tuned to APPS & REAC News and Notes for updates on this matter.

APPS Tip of the Month - Org Changes
|
Did you know? HUD is working on APPS improvements requested by the industry. Unfortunately, with changes there can sometimes be glitches.
HUD removed the "Finish" button from the Baseline screen but the coding that is now in place causes problems for some folks who need to do Organization Change submissions or Modified TPA's.
If you are trying to do an Organization Change or Modified TPA submission in APPS and are getting a circular message that keeps referring you back to edit your baseline, HUD asks that you contact the Multifamily Help Desk for assistance at 1-800-767-7588.
Murphy Consulting is happy to assist our existing clients with a work-around on this matter, free of charge.
