HUD Security Breaches |
HUD is shutting down access for EIV Coordinators who do not have Owner Authorization letters on file and identifying sanctions to go after individuals who share their APPS log-ins and passwords.
With the long standing contract administrator dispute, HUD knows that some folks are getting sloppy in their record keeping. With the significant increase in FHA mortgage applications, HUD realizes that some folks are taking short cuts to file their e2530's.
Be mindful of your actions, HUD takes their security protocols seriously.

Special Notice - Trusts and APPS |
APPS is still struggling to properly apply Trusts in baselines when the Trust holds the same identification # as the SSN of its Trustee. This is typically the case for Revocable Trusts.
The problem comes when the individual holds a role in the organization structure that is different from the role the Trust holds, such as Manager of an LLC.
We are working with HUD on a solution but no timeline is available yet for a fix. In the meantime, registering an SSN for dual purposes of "individual" and "trustee" should be done with great caution as it can populate changes to prior locked baselines.

Tip of the Month - HUD Secure System
|
Did you know? We talk to companies every week who are sharing HUD log-in ID's internally.
Auditors, Lenders, Attorneys and Consultants must have their own HUD Coordinator or User ID to log-in to the HUD Secure System. Employees may not use another employee's HUD log-in ID. These are direct violations of HUD's security protocol
If caught in violation, HUD has the option to completely shut down the ID's access to all HUD systems - EIV, REAC, FASS, APPS and more. Do not be caught out of compliance.
Contact Murphy Consulting for help with your EIV, APPS or REAC access.
