HUD Changes Ahead |
HUD plans improvements for 2014 and beyond. With a focus on reducing processing time without reducing risk, HUD is moving forward with a long awaited re-write of the 2530 Regulations.
If all goes according to plan, we may see waivers released this summer, as HUD attempts to roll out some changes quickly, followed later by draft regulations posted for comment.
While the industry is eager for some long anticipated lessening of the regulations, please know that HUD also promises to be more stringent in limiting participation in HUD loan programs to borrowers who have caused a mortgage insurance claim.
Murphy Consulting stays on top of HUD updates and changes!.

Tip of the Month - 2530 for Board Members
|
Did you know? LIHTC Pilot Program applications allow for an exception to typical non-profit 2530 requirements - only Board Officers need 2530 clearance.
Additionally, HUD has provided further clarification regarding board members who are employees of a Public Housing Authority (PHA). If their role on the non-profit board is a result of their position as an employee of the PHA, then they are exempt from 2530 clearance.
For all other programs and organizations, the 2530 regulations remain the same - all board members, directors and board officers require 2530 approval.

Tip of the Month - FASS Flags for late filing |
Did you know? There are some glitches in the system causing erroneous AFS Flags being placed on properties. Be sure to check your Flag Report in APPS.
Errors include Flags placed on the new owner for a former owner's missing AFS submission and Flags not being resolved on principals once the filings occur.
Contact the HUD Secure System specialists at Murphy Consulting for help with FASS, REAC and Coordinator & User access issues.
