New Year readiness in REAC, EIV & APPS |
Start the New Year off right and assure you can access the reports and reporting that you need in the HUD Secure System in 2014:
- Auditors needing FASS access should log in to the system with their User ID to assure that they have not been terminated for inactivity
- If a property has a new owner, Coordinators should check in Property Assignment Maintenance to assure that they have access under the new Tax ID # for the property or they will have problems accessing data in REAC and EIV
- Non-profits should check their board listing in APPS and report any changes to HUD via an e2530 Organization Change
- Coordinators must assure they (and their Users) have the IMM Role for each property so they can retrieve REAC Inspection Reports under the PASS New System
We receive numerous calls from folks with access and reporting problems - big and small. To help out our readers this year, see Helpful Tips below for more details on troubleshooting the above problems.
If you would like our personal assistance with the above or any other HUD Secure System matter, contact Denise Murphy Edwards for pricing details.

REAC Tip of the Month |
Did you know?
By now, everyone knows about the global 30 day extension to file financials electronically in the FASS system for 12/31 FYE filers. A lesser advertised milestone is the long awaited change to FASS Flagging procedures for Failure to File Financials.
The automatic system generated Flag that appears on the record of the owner and its principals when financials are not filed by the deadline will now be resolved automatically when the late filing actually occurs.
A big Thank You to HUD for addressing this industry concern!

APPS Tip of the Month |
Did you know?
The December APPS release corrected some glitches, made improvements on the HUD processing side and clarified functionality for Users and Coordinators. If you had problems with functionality prior to the holidays, be sure to check APPS again in the new year.
The retrieved score function is working, there is now a Create Baseline election and important notes appear such as "comments inserted here will not be carried through to a submission." Many key functions were also improved on the HUD processing side of the system as well.

Helpful Tips |
Below are some troubleshooting tips related to the issues outlined in our article New Year Readiness, above.
- If you are unable to log in to the HUD Secure System, call the REAC Technical Assistance Center at 1-888-245-4860. They are available to help with lockouts and ID terminations Monday thru Friday from 7:00 am until 8:30pm eastern time.
- Coordinators who check in Property Assignment Maintenance and do not see the Property listed for assignments, should 1st confirm that they received and entered the Access Key Code. If so, they should contact the HUD Project Manager or Account Executive to confirm that IREMs was updated after the closing to reflect the new owner.
- Coordinators or Users with APPS access to their non-profit corporation, should view the Organization Tier Report under the Reports menu in APPS to determine the most recent e2530 reporting.
- The IMM role can be assigned to Coordinators and Users in User Maintenance under Maintain User Profile - Roles. Then Coordinators can assign this role to a User and a property in Property Assignment Maintenance.
If you would like our personal assistance with the above or any other HUD Secure System matter, contact Denise Murphy Edwards for pricing details.
