What's New

HUD asked us to remind the industry that the System for Award Management (SAM), which has replaced CCR, is designed as a FREE service, both to register and to use.  Be wary of help lines that may request a fee.

If you had an account with CCR, all of your information is now in SAM.  You should not have to update your record, unless you have a change in business circumstances. Your next action would be to register for a log in with SAM in advance of the expiration date of your CCR registration, so you will be set to renew on the anniversary of your initial CCR registration.

APPS Tip -  Trust issues continue

Did you know?
The new APPS process for reporting Revocable Trusts under the SSN of the sole Trustee has a glitch.  This problem is expected to be repaired with the February release.

In the meantime, applicants are encouraged to either obtain a Tax ID# for the trust and report as a separate organization, (as was the prior policy) or identify the interest holdings of the Trust in the comments section of the APPS submission..

HUD System Tip - HUD #'s

Did you know?
HUD's Secure System keeps a list of all Section 8 Contract #'s and FHA#'s assigned to a property over time.   That is why you will see old numbers pop up alongside the new ones in both EIV and APPS.

Special tip:  When using EIV, select "all" so that you are sure you are getting accurate reports.

REAC Tip - Inspection of Nursing Homes

Did you know?
Effective immediately, HUD is ceasing the routine REAC physical inspection of skilled care facilities except in cases where the most recent REAC score was below a 60.

Those facilities will require a re-inspection until a score of 60 or above is obtained.

HUD 2530

Does this mean me?

HUD will verify you have a current and accurate HUD 2530 on file at Contract Renewal and even hold up your Rent Increase.

Any time principals of the owner or management agent change (and that means new board members on the non-profit boards too) an updated 2530 filing is required.

Don't get caught out of compliance!
