Laziness:
An older man had lived to 84 before going to the hospital for the first time in his life.
As he got into bed, he found a bell cord hooked to his pillow. "What's this thing for?" he asked the doctor. "It's for the nurse in case you need anything," the doctor replied.
"How does it work?" he asked.
"You push the button and it turns the light on for the nurse," replied the doctor.
He responded, "You young people have gotten very lazy. If the nurse needs a light on, she should get up and turn it on for herself."

Vicks HealthCheck Hygrometer
With winter in full swing, it's important to keep your home humidified. The health benefits are numerous: better for breathing, better for dry skin, and better for flu and allergy symptoms (see our article below about how humidity can keep flu from flourishing). Healthy humidity levels should be between 40% to 60%. This hygrometer can be moved from room to room to measure the humidity level as well as the temperature. Trudeau Graviti Battery Operated Pepper Mill Stylish, unique, and practical describe this pepper mill. With no buttons or levers to activate, this no-effort pepper mill is perfect for those with arthritis or other hand/wrist issues. Simply lift the grinder over the food--gravity sensors will take over, releasing the ground pepper or salt.

Humidity Can Help Keep the Flu From Flourishing
We've all heard the news reports this winter: flu season is upon us with a vengeance! Most of us know of someone who has been affected; perhaps even yourself or your loved one in elder care New Jersey. We've also heard the usual advice to ward off the flu: get a flu shot, cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough, and wash your hands quite frequently.
But that's not all you can do to keep the flu away.

About Our CareVisiting Angels is a New Jersey-licensed, non-medical home care company committed to going well beyond the "industry standard" to provide an exceptional level of security, comfort and peace of mind to our clients and their loved ones. Our "Angels", all certified home health professionals, are ready to provide compassionate and dependable assistance with the activities of everyday living to seniors, the disabled, those recovering from surgery and to those who are simply frail. Our services include such simple tasks as light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands and shopping to more personal tasks such as hygiene assistance, bathing, dressing and grooming. Visiting Angels' in-home care helps make it possible for seniors and other adults to continue to live at home and maintain the independence of their daily routines and familiar surroundings, safely. We truly understand how challenging and alien the entire home care selection process can be...and we are experienced in working with families; with loved ones "resistant" to receiving care; and with third-parties payors (such as insurance companies and the US Dept. of Veterans Affairs) to help insure that the best interests of the family and their loved ones are met. Visiting Angels' services help families spend more mutually-rewarding and meaningful time with their loved ones and also helps provide comfort and peace of mind to those who face the challenge of long-distance caregiving.
