Holiday Sleepover:
Two young boys were spending the night at their grandparents before the holidays.
At bedtime, the two boys knelt beside their beds to say their prayers when the youngest one began praying at the top of his lungs. "I PRAY FOR A NEW BICYCLE...
I PRAY FOR A NEW NINTENDO...
I PRAY FOR A NEW iPAD..." His older brother leaned over and nudged the younger brother and said, "Why are you shouting your prayers? God isn't deaf."
To which the little brother replied, "No, but Grandma is!"

| Tips to Help Make the Holidays Stress-Free

For seniors and their family caregivers, the added stress may sap the holiday cheer right out of them. Unrealistic expectations, loneliness, reflection on past disappointments or losses, anxiety about an uncertain future, failing to get enough sleep, and feeling generally overwhelmed are a few reasons for the holiday blues.

| What's Happening at Visiting Angels
COMMUNITY OUTREACH During the month of November, Managing Director and Co-Owner, Rudy Tervooren was out in the community visiting referral sources such as Virtua Hospital, attending client meetings, and giving Veterans presentations at senior centers throughout the community such as the Reading Senior Center in Trenton. Rudy frequently speaks at senior centers, churches, and in offices throughout Mercer and Burlington counties in New Jersey. He's passionate about sharing how our State-certified aides can help seniors with all their daily living needs, making it possible for them to continue living at home safely & less expensively than in a facility.
If you would like to schedule an elder care presentation with Rudy, please call him at 609-883-8188 or email him at rudy@njseniorcare.com. About Our CareVisiting Angels is a New Jersey-licensed, non-medical home care company committed to going well beyond the "industry standard" to provide an exceptional level of security, comfort and peace of mind to our clients and their loved ones. Our "Angels", all certified home health professionals, are ready to provide compassionate and dependable assistance with the activities of everyday living to seniors, the disabled, those recovering from surgery and to those who are simply frail. Our services include such simple tasks as light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands and shopping to more personal tasks such as hygiene assistance, bathing, dressing and grooming. Visiting Angels' in-home care helps make it possible for seniors and other adults to continue to live at home and maintain the independence of their daily routines and familiar surroundings, safely. We truly understand how challenging and alien the entire home care selection process can be...and we are experienced in working with families; with loved ones "resistant" to receiving care; and with third-parties payors (such as insurance companies and the US Dept. of Veterans Affairs) to help insure that the best interests of the family and their loved ones are met. Visiting Angels' services help families spend more mutually-rewarding and meaningful time with their loved ones and also helps provide comfort and peace of mind to those who face the challenge of long-distance caregiving.
