Senior Humor
Medical Exam Humor:
At the beginning of my shift I placed a stethoscope on an elderly and slightly deaf female patient's anterior chest wall.
"Big breaths," I instructed. "Yes, they used to be," she remorsefully replied.

| Gadget Corner
Our Gadget Corner features unique products which have extra benefits for the NJ senior care population.*
Sabi Pill Containers
Sabi has taken pill containers from ugly to stylish. No longer does your daily ritual of taking supplements or medicine need to be dispensed from a drab product. They've designed a whole line of products from pill splitters to pill containers with an attached water bottle. Their "Folio" model is shown--it looks like a designer notepad, but reveals a week's worth of pills inside. See the complete line at www.sabi.com.
Drawstring Tool
We've all had trouble with drawstrings slipping to the back of our sweatpants or PJs. With this nifty tool, you'll no longer have to use safety pins to work the drawstring back through the hole. It also has other uses such as pulling clogs from drains and grabbing wires/jewelry from hard-to-reach places. Visit www.creativecommodities.com.

| What's Happening at Visiting Angels
COMMUNITY OUTREACH Rudy Tervooren, Co-owner and Managing Director at Visiting Angels, was a hit at the Hamilton Township Senior Center in October. With approximately 200 attentive seniors in attendance, Rudy gave an informative presentation about home care and our special Veterans Program. Rudy frequently speaks at senior centers, churches, and in offices throughout Mercer and Burlington counties in New Jersey. He's passionate about sharing how our State-certified aides can help seniors with all their daily living needs, making it possible for them to continue living at home safely & less expensively than in a facility.
We are the experts on elder care in New Jersey. If you would like to schedule an elder care presentation with Rudy, please call him at 609-883-8188 or email him at rudy@njseniorcare.com. CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE/BLOG! We frequently post new information on our company website, NJSeniorCare.com, Facebook and Twitter! About Our CareVisiting Angels is a New Jersey-licensed, non-medical home care company committed to going well beyond the "industry standard" to provide an exceptional level of security, comfort and peace of mind to our clients and their loved ones. Our "Angels", all certified home health professionals, are ready to provide compassionate and dependable assistance with the activities of everyday living to seniors, the disabled, those recovering from surgery and to those who are simply frail. Our services include such simple tasks as light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands and shopping to more personal tasks such as hygiene assistance, bathing, dressing and grooming. Visiting Angels' in-home care helps make it possible for seniors and other adults to continue to live at home and maintain the independence of their daily routines and familiar surroundings, safely. We truly understand how challenging and alien the entire home care selection process can be...and we are experienced in working with families; with loved ones "resistant" to receiving care; and with third-parties payors (such as insurance companies and the US Dept. of Veterans Affairs) to help insure that the best interests of the family and their loved ones are met. Visiting Angels' services help families spend more mutually-rewarding and meaningful time with their loved ones and also helps provide comfort and peace of mind to those who face the challenge of long-distance caregiving.
